Iβm a Brisbane-based qualified and registered counsellor with a diverse range of life and work experience.
I enjoy authentic conversations where clients can experience saying what they need to without fear of judgement, leaving them with a sense of being genuinely seen and heard.
I aim to make an intrinsic difference to peopleβs lives, through my therapeutic presence and the way I work with them. This desire to authentically connect with others motivated me to change careers and formalise my interest in helping people, through studying a Master of Counselling.
Previous Experience
Due to a prior corporate career in the business sector, I have a special interest in assisting clients with work-related issues such as major life transitions, including career concerns. This positions me well to work in the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) space with an in-depth understanding of organisational contexts, work-related wellness and work-related stress.
My extensive volunteering experiences with social services organisations, including running Womenβs Connect groups, have provided experience in supporting front-line caseworkers and supervisors in the social services sector. This includes an understanding of vicarious trauma and the ability to also incorporate some aspects of supervision.
I am interested in the fields of neuroscience, epigenetics, psycho-nutrition and health and wellness. My own health journey has involved an integrated approach and I believe we are integrated beings and therefore a bio-socio-psycho-spiritual approach is needed to treat the whole person.
Inclusive Christian Counselling
As a counsellor who is also a Christian, I can work at a deep level with Christian clients, however, I never introduce spiritual themes and am non-evangelical.
I am open-minded, inclusive and non-judgmental with a curious stance when exploring with clients their experience of gender, sexuality, religion, culture, socio-economic factors and family dynamics.
Iβm not easily offended, rarely shocked and secular in my approach, unless specifically asked to incorporate spirituality.
I offer individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy and online counselling to Carindale, Carina, Brisbane and surrounding areas.

Sara is a gifted counsellor who tailors her wide range of therapy options and sessions according to client needs. I appreciate that Sara always gives me the option to direct the topic of a session, as well as assistance to prioritise day-to-day functioning whilst still working towards long-term healing, growth and wholeness. Sara has the wisdom and insight to ask the tough questions when needed, but also the care and compassion to do it gently or know when to re-visit llater rather than pursue a matter at that time. Sara's scheduling and appointments show a kind but professional approach to be available when needed, not expect regular ongoing sessions, but potentially making time if a crisis unexpectedly arises. I also have appreciated Sara's flexibility of session delivery either in person, skype or by phone. As a working mother, this has meant I can assess support even when I can't physically make an appointment. Lastly, ordinarily I am quite a driven, motivated person, however in recent times I've struggled to find how that can work with the current state of my body and mind... Sara has helped guide me to a new way forward that still allows that part of my personality, but in a kinder, more sustainable way, ultimately leading to a better life for me and my loved ones.

When I first decided to go to counselling it was moreso from a curiosity stand point. I wasn't sure what I would get out of it. Sara was able to guide me through various situations and to solutions that are relevant to my life. Seeing Sara has ended up being one of the best decisions I've made and one in which I will continue to make.
